Antibiotics

my 10 month old went to the doctor back in February with a double ear infection, now in June he still has them, and has had one every time we’ve gone in since then. He has been given amoxil (he had an allergic reaction) then omnicef, and now zithromax, but he is still super fussy and tugging at his ears. I’m just wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation and what the next step will be. and yes I take all of the precautions to prevent I.E not laying flat with bottle, etc….

You may not want to hear this but it sounds like you may want to consult your babies doctor about putting tubes in his ears.

It is a drastic measure for a presistant and on going problem.

My daughter, when she was a baby I had the same issue. The doc. prescribed me antibiotics, it wasn’t helping so, I went to another doctor and he stopped the antibiotics, cause they were not helping, her body was ammuned to them. He then prescribed me an antibiotic ear drops. Which contains : This cleared it right up !! Ask your doctor about the ear drops and see what he can do for you. If this does not work then he would more then likely have to get tubes. This issue does need to be resolved because it can cause hearing loss.
